The warmest of welcomes to Carmen & the #bikerfriendly @villandasrural A quality lodging for four people in a charming country setting. It has been carefully restored with natural and organic materials and carefully-chosen decoration. Original stonework can be seen both inside and out, and we used eco-friendly paints for the rendered wall surfaces. The chestnut ceiling and floorboards are treated with eco-friendly oils and dyes and most of the furniture is either restored or antique. Upstairs there are two rooms- one with a double bed and another with twin beds- and a bathroom with natural light. The cozy rooms have high ceilings and skylights that fill the spaces with light. The original stone is visible on some of the walls, whilst the chestnut of the floors and ceilings gives the sensation of warmth. They have been decorated with care and attention to details, using old, restored furniture from the family or given by friends in the village. On the ground floor is the fully-equipped kitchen (electric hob, oven, microwave, washing machine, fridge-freezer, toaster, electric mixer, juicer, iron…) and the sitting room with its pellet stove and TV/DVD (you can bring your own favourite music and films). From the ground floor you go out to the enclosed patio of 100m2 with wooden garden furniture, deckchairs and a barbecue where you can enjoy the open air just outside your front door. We are 15 km from the protected area of Pico Caldoveiro and Puerto de Marabio (20 minutes), 4 km from the Camino Real de la Mesa, 26 km from the Somiedo Natural Park (35 minutes), 32.4 km from the Senda del Oso (50 minutes), 55 minutes from the Playa del Aguila… all of them uniquely beautiful places. There are native oak, beech, chestnut and ash woods nearby.
