Terms & Conditions for Riders

1. Introduction & Acceptance

These Terms and Conditions ("Rider Terms") govern your use of the Ride and Rest platform ("Platform") as a guest traveller ("Rider"). By registering an account and making a booking, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Rider Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any property-specific conditions set by the Owner.

Ride and Rest operates solely as an online marketplace connecting Riders with independent property owners. We do not provide accommodation directly and are not a party to the rental contract between you and the Owner.

2. Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to register and make bookings.
• You must provide accurate personal information and keep your account details up to date.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

3. Booking Process & Payment

• Bookings are made directly through the Platform. A booking is confirmed once the Owner approves your request and you receive a confirmation notification.
• By completing a booking, you enter into a direct agreement with the property Owner. Ride and Rest is not a party to that agreement.
• You are responsible for ensuring the property meets your needs before booking. Read the full listing description, amenities, house rules, and cancellation policy carefully.
• Pricing is set by the Owner. No platform fee is charged to Riders — Ride and Rest charges a commission to the Owner.
• You are responsible for ensuring the number of guests and dates are correct at the time of booking.
• Payment is agreed and settled directly between you and the Owner. Ride and Rest has no involvement in, and accepts no liability for, any payment disputes between Riders and Owners.

4. Cancellation Policy

Each property has its own cancellation policy set by the Owner. The policy applicable to your booking is clearly displayed before you confirm. The three policies are:

As all payments are made directly to the Owner, any refund arising from a cancellation is a matter between you and the Owner. Ride and Rest does not hold or process funds on behalf of either party and cannot facilitate refunds.

Ride and Rest is not responsible for any losses, costs, or inconvenience arising from a cancelled booking, including travel costs, alternative accommodation, or any other expenses you may incur.

5. No Liability for Property Condition

• Properties are listed and managed independently by Owners. Ride and Rest has no control over the condition, cleanliness, safety, or suitability of any property.
• We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the quality, fitness for purpose, or accuracy of any listing on the Platform.
• Any dispute regarding property condition, cleanliness, or misrepresentation is between you and the Owner. Ride and Rest will not be held liable for such disputes.
• You are encouraged to review property ratings and reviews before booking and to contact the Owner directly with any specific questions.

6. No Liability for Theft, Loss or Damage

• You are solely responsible for the security of your belongings, including your motorcycle, riding gear, and personal effects.
• The availability of motorcycle security features (e.g. locked garages, CCTV) is stated by the Owner and has not been independently verified by Ride and Rest.
• We strongly recommend that all Riders hold comprehensive travel insurance and motorcycle insurance that covers personal belongings and third-party liability for the duration of their trip.
• Ride and Rest will not act as an insurer and will not compensate Riders for any loss, theft, or damage, regardless of circumstances.

7. No Liability for Personal Injury

Ride and Rest is not liable for any personal injury, illness, accident, or death occurring at or in connection with a property booked through the Platform. Property safety and compliance with local health and safety regulations is the sole responsibility of the Owner. Riders use properties entirely at their own risk.

8. No Liability for Owner Cancellations

In the event that an Owner cancels a confirmed booking, any refund is a matter to be resolved directly between you and the Owner, as Ride and Rest does not hold or process any payments. Ride and Rest accepts no liability for any losses, costs, or damages you may suffer as a result of an Owner cancellation, including but not limited to travel costs, alternative accommodation, lost earnings, or any other consequential loss.

9. Rider Conduct & Responsibilities

• You must comply with the property's house rules as set out in the listing.
• You must treat the property and its contents with care and respect.
• You are liable to the Owner for any damage caused to the property during your stay.
• You must not sublet or transfer your booking to a third party.
• You must not exceed the maximum number of guests stated in the listing.
• You must check in and check out at the times stated in your booking confirmation.
• Disruptive, illegal, or abusive behaviour may result in immediate removal from the property and suspension of your Ride and Rest account.

10. Insurance

Ride and Rest strongly recommends that all Riders obtain comprehensive travel insurance prior to travel, including cover for:

• Trip cancellation and curtailment
• Medical expenses and emergency repatriation
• Personal liability
• Theft and loss of personal belongings
• Motorcycle and riding equipment

Ride and Rest does not provide insurance of any kind and is not responsible for any uninsured losses.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Ride and Rest, its directors, employees, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, personal injury, property damage, or any other loss arising out of or related to your use of the Platform or any booking made through it.

In jurisdictions where limitations of liability are restricted by consumer protection law, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our own gross negligence or fraud.

12. Disputes with Owners

Any dispute regarding your stay, the property, or the Owner's conduct should first be raised directly with the Owner. If you are unable to resolve a dispute, you may contact Ride and Rest at enquiries@rideandrest.info and we will endeavour to assist as a neutral intermediary. However, Ride and Rest has no obligation to resolve disputes and accepts no liability for their outcome.

13. Reviews

Following a completed stay, you may be invited to leave an honest review. Reviews must be based on genuine personal experience and must not contain false, defamatory, or offensive content. Ride and Rest reserves the right to remove reviews that violate our community guidelines.

14. Changes to These Terms

Ride and Rest may update these Rider Terms from time to time. We will notify registered Riders of material changes with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Platform following such notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. For Riders based in the European Union, EU consumer protection laws apply and these Terms do not affect your statutory rights. Nothing herein limits any rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence.
